Creating gear that just sat on a shelf to collect dust was never our goal. Our number one priority has always been equipment that you and your dog can take on all your adventures. All Kismet Collars are not just unique and functional works of art. They’re also rugged, made-to-be-used pieces of equipment that can go anywhere your dog does. Sometimes things happen, but we are so confident in the materials we use that we are proud to offer a Lifetime Warranty on all of Kismet Collars’ products.
What does the warranty cover?
While we don’t think you’ll ever need it, all of Kismet Collars’ products are fully warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. This includes defects in hardware, leather, fasteners, and embellishments.
Is anything else covered under warranty?
Yes! We also cover rust, and even embellishments falling out or breaking. Likewise, if you ever need any maintenance done on your Kismet Collars’ gear, our lifetime warranty covers that too.
When does the warranty start?
It starts from the moment you purchase and receive any of your Kismet Collars’ gear.
Who pays for shipping?
While we are happy to fix or maintenance your gear free of charge, we do ask that you cover the costs involved with shipping the product to and from us with a tracking number. We recommend USPS Priority Mail Flatrate.
How long will my repair take?
The short answer is, it depends. Simple repairs and maintenance will get done faster than more complex repairs and replacements. As a general rule of thumb, it will take on average 1-4 weeks before we ship your gear back to you.
What isn’t covered under warranty?
We cannot fix or replace any gear that has been chewed, misused, cared for incorrectly, or tampered with. For example, allowing your dog to use its’ collar as a chew toy, or deciding to use your leash to tow your car. Likewise, our leather dog collars are tough, but are not made for tie-out or for dogs who live outdoors 24-7.
Our gear is made for everyday adventures, including regular leash walks, hiking, biking, swimming, and even dog sports. We are experts in our craft, and can tell when gear has been worn constantly on dogs who live outside 24-7. This ages the leather exponentially and shortens its lifespan, thus, we are unable to cover it under our warranty.
How do I send in my product for repair / maintenance?
If you have any questions, need something fixed, or just want a little maintenance done, simply contact us. We may ask you to send us proof of purchase, and / or pictures of the damaged product beforehand.
Please Note: Our warranty does not cover cleaning services. You must clean your gear before you send it to us for any maintenance, repairs, etc. We will not perform any services on dirty items and simply send them back to you to be cleaned first.
What about Natural Aging or “Wear & Tear?”
Leather does naturally age and wear over time. Our lighter leathers [ red & brown ] will begin to show scratches and look beautifully rugged. As time goes on, the leather absorbs the natural oils from you & your dog, it will change color, usually becoming darker. [ often hiding many of those scratches ] As leather continues to get used, and loved, it will become more supple, and thus may stretch a little. These things are all normal and unavoidable when using leather gear, and are not covered under our lifetime warranty.
While many people love that their leather’s natural aging tells a story [ usually of fun times spent with our dearest canine family ] if you do not, chose black leather when buying your gear. It does not show scratches much, if at all. If your pup is a heavy puller, and stretching is a concern, choose a wider collar that’s made with 2 layers instead of one, and a wider leash to go with it.
Each consumer is responsible for determining the suitability of all Kismet Collars’ products for their individual situation and needs. The Consumer or User accepts all responsibility by purchasing and/or using these products.
